Shipping adult turkeys???

Has anyone had any luck on shipping adult size turkeys?

The shipping is extremely cost prohibitive.

I was going to have a family member ship a few adult turkeys, I was just worried about them making it. The shipping is costly.

I just shipped 2 grown roosters to CA from VA and it cost over $70.00 for them. I cannot imagine the cost of turkeys. Depending how far they are you would save just driving and getting them.

Had one shipped to me last year. Cost about $150. The tom did fine.

IMHO only worth it for really special breeding stock.

I shipped a bourbon red tom from washington state to wyoming! box cost 29.95/ overnight express 196.00 dollars/ water and food used a apple! sold tom for 25 dollars $250.95 tom!!!!

Thank you everyone. These are for breeding and a new blood line. I went ahead and had them shipped. It was $175.00 to ship the pair. I actually thought it would be more. Hopefully they make it ok

I was gone say about $80 each, it's not as bad as it's made out to be. I ship them quite often and have never lost a single one.
