I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question, but where can I buy shipping boxes for chicks? I've found one website that sells them, but they seem awfully expensive. This will be my first time shipping live birds and I'm trying to do my homework so they will arrive safely to their destinations [IMG]

Not to sure about your area but we can get some at the feed store local here. They did not seem to bad but, maybe they were. I was not buying just noticed they had a sign up. Hope this helps and good luck.

Just guessing, The feed store was probably selling the boxes that they received chicks in.. So they are probably used boxes and not available all the time.

Yes, shipping boxes are expensive and don't forget you also need the pad for the bottom of the box.

If you are shipping birds older than day olds, then the boxes get really expensive.

You must ship in approved boxes, which limits your options.
