Hello all from Northern Indiana! ~~~Brrr!

I am so excited to join your community and learn from you all! I am looking to raise my first hens for eggs this Spring. Maybe 1/2 dozen or so to start. I absolutely love the green, blue, speckled eggs, they are so beautiful and I have never seen them in person so those are what I would like to try. I love looking at all your coop designs and am very excited to finalize my plans!! So exciting!

I love nature also and hate what I see taking place in CAFO's/factory farms so this is one more way for me to stick it to the man and give a little back nature. I am going to try my best to keep the chickens free of any harmaceuticals, GMO's or petro-products. So I am going to need all the organic advice I can get. I plan on using lots of garlic, DE, apple cider vinegar, growing their own berry bushes and anything else natural to help keep them healthy.

I plan on using their manure for my garden as well! They are just too good to not try doing myself. I am beyond excited and glad that my husband is a willing participant in this too!

=) Thank you and I am looking forward to our interaction!
