What I assumed was a BO started spouting feathers of orange-ish on the tail. I have no reference to BO progression so pretty much dismissed the very white wing feathers present since arrival. Buffy is now sprouting barring and other colors similar to the niederrheiner, which is much richer in color. I think my BO morphed into a lemon cuckoo niederrheiner, and may be male based on light coloring? Also making me think that is Buffy has very yellow feet, not pink like BO.
BUT …the known lemon cuckoo niederrheiner has pink feet, not yellow. Both have single combs. No waddles yet. Pics are of chick in question except last pic is known to be a niederrheiner. Both chicks are 3 weeks old.
I tried to get side by side pics but, well, that didn’t happen.
So, I am confused. The niederrheiner thread is inactive and closed. Anyone care to guess?
I was hoping for all that BO fluff. These guys are pretty tho.
Thx in advance and have fun figuring out those feet.

Hmm, what hatchery is it from? I highly doubt Niederrheiner because of skin color.
McMurrays. I ordered 4 SR Niederrheiners, 1 Buff. 3 of those 5 died. The one niederrheiner that survived is the chick in the last picture. I am absolutely sure I had no substitutions (what was ordered was shipped), and all of the other chicks in the order are easy to ID: bielefelders, one EE.
about skin color, meaning which one, light or darker chick?
Thx for reply
