Should chickens eat wild bird feed?

We keep feeders out with feed in them all the time on our porch as well as water is available in several areas around our yard for them to drink BUT in the morning when we go outside we get a cup of wild bird feed and feed it to the girls...that or we put it in our hands and feed them.

Do you think that's ok for them to eat it that often?

Wild birdseed is fine for them.

It won't hurt them, but it's usually less than 10% protein
