should I divide my nesting box??

My nesting box is 24 inch by 12inches in side should I divide it to be 2, 12x12 boxes??

Another question... my coop is 4x6 feet and the run is 6x12 ft. How many chicken could that comfortably house in this set up. I was thinking 4. Am I right??

( I might end up extending the run to be 12x12 but we'll see, since I have left over fencing I got for free.)

My nesting boxes are the same size. As I was watching my Buff orp laying an egg yesterday I was glad we made them bigger cause she wouldn't have fit in a smaller box or at least it wouldn't have looked comfortable.

Nice box you made there! It does have an opening for the hens, right?!! I think your coop and run size is good for 4 hens.

Yes, I'd put a divider in it.

Shouldn't make much difference whether the nestbox is divided. But 12" x 12" is plenty if you have Leghorns.

I'd only put 3 of the heavy breeds into a 4x6 coop, but 4 Leghorns should be ok.
