Should I get them?

I have a mixed flock of 8 (females: 1rouen, 1 pekin, 4 WH; males: 1 ea khaki Campbell, WH). I want to increase the flock by 6 and have an opportunity to get some pekin day olds. I am worried that if some are male (straight run) that they could hurt the smaller breed of WH females, or maybe even drowned them. What are the chances/ likelihood? KC & WH males that I have now don't pose the girls any real problems (other than with general randiness lol).

I would hesitate, for the reasons you cite. Sometimes straight runs have mostly drakes.

Thank you. I didn't know if I was over-reacting to it and I don't want to have to cull most of them. :-(

Primary question is, do you have a plan for any excess males?

We have rehomed them in the past. We have a couple people who will always take waterfowl.

We will kill and eat if we have to, but that isn't our first choice. Our egg layers are more pets. Meat birds we know are going to be meat from the beginning so there is no attachment.
