Should I give my silkie a hair cut?

I have a 5 month old silkie with white feathers, and I have been wondering should I give it a hair cut. It has leaves stuck to its feet and poop stuck to its butt, and it looks like it can barley see a foot in front of it. I want to know if people normally do this with long haired silkies and if it's safe to do so. If anyone can help that would be great

My daughter has done a trim on her's before, she usually bathed them for the feet problem, but with winter coming, she has ceased all of it to maintain as much fluff as possible but if severely dirty will tidy up. .

You can just wash her feet. The poop on the butt may not be something you just want to cut off. She could be sick. She could have round worm, or pasty but. They are both an easy treatment.
