    Hi there,
I'm new to this site but I remember as a kid in Wisconsin, the chickens were able to run free in the cold and they went inside the coop whenever they wanted. They pretty tough.

We get fairly mild winter temps. here in SW Arkansas - low teens, rarely lower. More ice than snow. I let my chickens out every single day. Whether they choose to go out or stay in the coop is up to them.
