About a week ago, several of my turkeys started "assuming the position (the mating position)", and now they're laying eggs again. Is this normal?

Yes, it's normal. When you say they are laying "again", when was the last time they layed eggs?

Thanks... I just thought they were more like peafowl and only laid at certain times of the year.

You are right. In some regions they are seasonal layers. Our warmer temps in Louisiana allows our hens to lay earlier than most regions. But you are right. They lay like peas.

Do they lay year round in Arkansas or they seasonally here too...i just acquired some that are a little over a year old and also do they lay on ground or do you need to place a brush pile in the pen with them to make a nest?

One of mine just laid on the porch, another did it in the middle of the lawn. FWIW, both did it a couple of hours after dark.
