    Yeah I have been worried about that too... Adding Modern has been an experiment and if they turn out "watered down" then I will get rid of them.

    The Modern hen that I use is pretty tough, and her full brother died in a natural scrap against of my wild types. So it lends me to believe they are game.

    So far I don't see any issues and I'm happy with results. the crosses have dark legs and are solid white. I just wish they were taller (longer legged) like the Modern.

    Same clutch but different hens shared it. The father cock (Modern X American cross) is same for all..

    I don't think the male will pass on the white gene when paired with a bbr hen. So I think these white stags came from my older white hen (pea combed) or her daughter (straight comb, @kingcocker now owns).

    gamefowl are types of chickens that were bred for the sole purpose to fight and kill one another

    It used to be for thousands of years... But not anymore in most "civilized" countries... Philippines is one of the remaining countries where it is basically the national sport.
