show quality bird? what do judges look for?

    i would like to show some of my chickens maybe my polish but most likely my silkies (all colors)
    but i never done this before and dont know what they look for and what makes it "show quality"? can someone help cause i want to show some birds

    The judges compare your bird to the standard written for your breed/variety. The standards are in The American Standard of Perfection book. Or, if you do a search for clubs or organizations in the breed you are interested in showing, sometimes they will have the standards posted on their website.
