I went out to go bring in my banties, and saw that Ruby, my Red Showgirl, has a rash on his neck. It almost looks like poison oak, but that is impossible as they are kept no where near it. It is very warm to the touch, and significantly raised. My mother thinks possibly sunburned? Here are some pics...

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or advice. [IMG]

    fowl pox?
have you introduced any new chickens into your group recently?
i hope others will be along soon who have more experience than i and who can give more expert opinions.
in the meantime . . . i would separate him from the flock until you know it is not something that can spread.
i hope it is something easy and simple - good luck!
