I just had 2 chicks hatch yesterday/last night. The one is less than a day old and seems to be breathing heavy and is somewhat listless. I'm new to the hatching world and I'm not sure if this is normal because she's wore out, or could something else be going on. The other chick is doing just fine! The brooder temp is not too hot/cold... and they have ample space to get away from the heat!

What are you feeding them. Where is the brooder set up?

    Do they have sugar water.

Is the one gasping for air or crying?

They have starter crumbles. No sugar in water... is that a normal thing? and the brooder is in our basement, up off the floor, no drafts...
