Sick Chick Respiratory and Sneezing

Where did the chick come from? The gasping, sneezing, and crackles could be a sign of a respiratory disease, such as mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG.) MG is one disease that can be transmitted through a hatching egg, as well as direct and indirect contact with a carrier chicken and other poultry and wild birds. Tylosin or Tylan can help treat symptoms. It does not cure the disease or keep it from spreading to others or having another outbreak during a period of stress. Testing can provide a diagnosis. Make sure that it has good ventilation, prevent dust and water spills which can cause mold. I hope that the chick survives.

How much Tylan and what type of Tylan are you giving?

Someone told me .2cc once a day orally for a chick. They hatched in my coop. One chick didn’t survive. I put her back with her mother for tonight and tomorrow I’m going to search for mold from the rain and scrub all the boxes clean. I have Tylan and heard of mg. Wasn’t sure of dosage
