Our chicks stay apart from the other five all day, doesn't mind being picked up while the others run and try to get away. It's beak is crooked and it doesn't really eat or drink anything. Possibly of things wrong with it?

Welcometo BYC. Chicks with scissors beak or a crooked beak can live if you feed them out of a deep bowl rather than a chicken feeder, and put some water into there feed to make it soupy. Google scissors beak chicken, and look for links by thechickenchick. Com and others for good advice on beak trimming. I would also treat with vitamins and trace minerals for a few weeks, just ikn case it helps stop the progression of the crooked beak deformity. Do not breed this chicken in order to prevent passing the deformity on to other chicks.
