sick chick

My year old hen has stopped eating, laying eggs, has green watery diarrhea, and is lethargic. I've given her olive oil, Epsom salt, a little bit of plain yogurt (not all at the same time). Her color is good, but can barely keep herself up. This has been going on for 5 days. Any advice will be helpful.

I dont know if this will help or not, but it wont hurt. Try feeding it sugar water. It always helps with our ducks and gives them energy when they are sick or weak. I hope this helps!!!

Also check the food and water. Is the food clumpy and/or damp? If so, their food will make them sick. Is the water dirty? Dirty water shouldnt hurt, but you never know. Again, hope this helps!!!!

Aww good luck, we just went through a rough week with our 6 week old leghorn. She is finally back to normal after we fed her yoghurt and buttermilk for several days. I hope all goes well with your chick!

Why did you give her olive oil and epsom salts? Epsom salts will give her diarrhea which may further dehydrate and make her more ill. What does her crop feel like? Have you checked her for mites and lice? When was she last wormed? Have you tried giving her some vitamin/electrolyte water? Try giving her some scrambled egg for strength.
