We just recently got a few chicks...

    5 Black Australorps (local breeder)
The rest were picked up at the local feed store...
    1 Rhode Island Red
    1 Buff Sexlink
    1 Silver Laced Wyandotte...

Sadly the Wyandotte is not doing well, we picked her up on Saturday Feb 28th and she was obviously only 1-3 days old at most. She's not eating or drinking on her own and sleeps ALL THE TIME ---- when she stands she is wobbly and doesnt walk much.

We have dipped her beak, hand fed and hand watered. Food is medicated chick starter --- temp in brooder is plenty warm at 98 in the hot spot and 83 in the cold spot... she is separated from the rest of the "flock" so that she doesnt get picked on but we're not seeing much improvement... in-fact it appears as her coloring (beak) is changing to an almost yellow color...

She definately does not have pasty butt as she's pooped on us while feeding her several times.... we're just at a loss with this little one....

    Any advice?

Welcome! So sorry about your sick chick; hope she does better. All chicks won't live, for many reasons. Shipping stress is a big problem, even if other diseases aren't present. You might want to see how the chicks still at the store are doing too. Mary
