Does she behave this way all day, or did you just notice it at night? She might have had her head tucked behind her wing because she was sleeping. But if she’s acting under the weather (fluffed up, eyes closed, not as active as the others, heavier breathing is consistent), there may be something wrong.

so she was fine yesterday, i put them in the coop from the basement for their first night last night came home from work this morning and checked on em and she was very lethargic eyes closing, head in feathers, the rest are fine running around exploring there run so I’m not sure what’s wrong

I wonder if, by any chance, she got bit by a spider ...? This always crosses my mind when someone is suddenly not feeling well 😞. How does her crop (pouch on the front of her chest - right about where the wishbone is located) feel?

I had my little Junie fall ill on me when she was only 2 weeks old. Her crop was bloated - puffed up like a balloon - and I thought she had sour crop (not common with birds that young). I never really found out what it was, but I suspect she had a partial blockage (probably ate a wood shaving - she eats EVERYTHING now, so that was probably it).

Anyway, if she has an inflated crop, it could be a blockage causing sour crop (basically a yeast infection in there). If that’s the case, you can search on here for ways to treat it. But if she has a puffy crop, it might be a blockage (due to her young age). If so, I can tell you what I did to help Junie. Good luck!

wait so you hit the nail on the head, i set up a spare ring camera in the coop since i was at work, and paranoid about there first night out there, she definitely ate a few pine shavings i saw her do it, which i don’t get why, they have plenty of accessible food
