Sick Silkie...Penacillin?

I went to a feed store and I described how she looked...(eyelid swollen, sometimes open, thin mucous, but no bubbling)
They had some chicken penacillin and I asked if I could use the ones that are given to us. She said yes, break the caplet and sprinkle some in the water for a few days. She was in a cage with another silkie that died a few days earlier.

Tylan is the antibiotic of choice when dealing with respiratory ailments. I would recommend that you never take advice from any feed store employee. Seriously. So many people come to this forum with erroneous info given to them by the "feed store guys".

What exactly are you giving her?

Amoxicillin.....tiny amount, a few granuals in waterer.
