Well, I've been watching my new Jersey Giant pullets for the past few days, even got an egg from one of them today.(they are about 18 weeks old) I'm about as happy as I can get,,,, and then at around 10:20 this evening, I heard, coming from MY coop, the unmistakable sound of a rooster crowing!!!!! Crap! I'm not supposed to have a rooster! I'm hoping one of the pullets is having a gender identity crisis.

yeah thats how i feel with my 2 silkie roos i found out where roosters...but i got a hen...(im really happy for that, just like your happy bout that egg....i cant wate till my hen makes me an egg) :

How funny. You got the two things that I have been waiting so patiently for. My BO pullets aren't old enough yet for eggs at 15 wks, and I have not heard a crow yet from our little Caesar. Congrats on both, even though I know you aren't very thrilled about the crow. Just think, maybe those are fertilized eggs. You could hatch some cuties.
