Signs that turkeys are about to lay?

We have three broad breasted bronze turkeys that are all hens we don't have a tom yet but we might get one or we are going to have the turkeys artificially insiminated. One of our turkeys started going in and looking at the chicken nesting boxes. She almost tried to get in one but they are to small for her. When she was looking at them she was making a weird call that sounded like she was laughing. Once she found she couldn't fit in those boxes she walked around in the far corners of the pen looking around like she is trying to find a nest. All three of our turkeys have been doing the squat where they lower their wings and tail and stand there. But only one has started looking at the nesting boxes. Is she about to lay an egg? Will turkrys lay in the winter?

UPDATE: Turkey layed an egg a couple hours later

Congrats! Our turkey just started laying again as well. I wouldn't get a Tom because broad breasted bronze turkeys can't naturally breed and hurt themselves trying, unless you used him for artificial insimination.

We might get a royal palm tom that we they can do it naturally. Or we are going to have the vet do it
