Silage for Chickene

Has anyone done this? If this works I was wondering is a vacuum sealer would work?

As an ex-farmer when making silage you need to do it right or you end up with mold. To me it would be a lot of trouble for a little payoff. I find it easier and safer to give my chickens some hay in winter for forage. I pick bales with lots of leaves and seed heads. Another option would be sprouting seeds for winter forage.

Agreed @oldhenlikesdogs sprouting is so easy I start at the first frost , last week here.

My hens like lentils best and I remember @aart said to use winter wheat ? I think
