[IMG] one of my silkie Roos ended up with a comb like this. It almost looks like a pea comb but I'm not sure does anyone know?

Somewhere back in his family tree there is a non silky relative. All of the 'silkies' sold by our local TSC this season were cross breds.

So you don't think he is pure bred?

If he was purebred he would have a walnut comb

He is purebred, but with a major fault. Not suitable for exhibition.

I am planing on breeding my silkies and then just selling the offspring on Craigslist. Do you think if I breed him with my show quality hens they will still come out nice?

His offspring will inheritboth his and the hen's traits. Some may come out with better combs, but some won't

Would the comb be a disqualification from show?
