silkie died

    my fav chicken just died it was a silkie. i am sending it off to b autopsied. it cost 50$. i am really upset it my third chicken to die in 3 months

    thank you. my vet is sending her off to a specialist in macon ga. i am hoping that there is nothing else i need to b worried about. i have already had 3 chickens die in like 3 or 4 months and i know someone with 200 chickens this isnt a big deal but i only have 8 chickens so this is a VERY big deal. she was my favorite...

    So sorry. [​IMG] I lost a silkie this summer. She was still very young. The farmer I got her from said that silkies are more susceptible to bacteria as youngsters than some other breeds.

    Where did you get the silkie ?? I just had a 10 week silkie roo die , for no apparent reason , yesterday ........ got him from My Pet Chicken ... he was my fave too.......
