Can black-fleshed Silkie cross cockerels be eaten?

We had one who was TOO WONDERFUL and DARLING to eat, so we worked long and hard to find him a great new home. But if it happened again, it seems the next best and responsible thing to do is the old fashioned way; stewpot?

Has anyone here ever eaten a Silkie cross?

it's a chicken, of course it can be eaten!! now there may not be an awful lot of meat in there, but used in a soup or something of that sorts with a starch and lots of veggies it would make a meal.

    i've never eaten one...because i don't have silkies. [IMG]
