Silkie egg laying capabilities

i was thinking of buying a silkie but several sites say that they don't lay many eggs; but some sights said that they lay a bunch of eggs. Does anyone know from experience? Thanks ahead of time.

When they're young they lay pretty well when they're not broody.
The reason for the conflicting information is that they lay well but go broody so frequently the annual lay rate is low.
