Do Silkies generally start laying eggs later then normal sized hens? We have a silkie that is 2.5 weeks younger then our other hen and our other hen started laying eggs a little over a month ago...I sort of thought about 2 weeks later we might start seeing some from the silkie...is there anything I should be watching her for (for her safety?)

    ???

Got my silkies in May and some are laying now and still waiting on others....How weird they are....I think they will all start when they are ready! The sooner the better though!!

I guess it's like puberty,...we all do it 'around' the same time, but on our own time table [IMG]
