Silkie food

My silkies don't seem to like many veggies. Love cucumber and their layer pellets. Any ideas? Can they eat snails ?

Many birds don't like to forage on vegetables. They literally get hooked on the pellet grain based foods.

Not sure about snails. They are know to carry parasites for other animals. I'd have to research on chickens.

Toss out greens and things and note what they like and what they don't.

It is not a bad thing that they want to eat their pelleted food as it is formulated to be a balanced diet for them.

New food has to be introduced so they eat a little and hopefully if they like it they will eat more. Like cucumbers and young chicks on the ground---to start I split one in half the long way and sprinkle chick feed all over it---the chicks will eat the feed and get the taste of the cucumber and in a few days they will be eating the cucumbers almost completely. My young pigs I just got want eat cucumbers, squash, etc so this morning I cooked/boiled a pot full and mixed a little feed and some bread---they eat it in a little while----even my chickens, dog and cats will eat it boiled(after I allowed it to cool). Just train them to eat it if you want.

As I suspicion, chickens can get internal parasites from eating snails.

Thanks for that. I'll dispose of snails some other way
