Silkie - gender? healthy?

Thanks for your input everyone! Looks as if I'll just have to be a little more patient... If it is indeed a roo, please please tell me a silkie's crow isn't very loud...

I'd love to be able to keep s/he because it has such a sweet, quiet disposition. Mmmm--what color chicks do you get when you mix a grey silkie (black head) hen with a white silkie roo? If I get some laying hens (sex link reds) will he be too small to bother with them?

Head photo looks like it COULD be a girl, but body photo SCREAMS boy (also looks to have a wry tail). But as has been said, at three months it is WAY to young to be absolutely certain.

As has been said about boys and girls for probably several thousand years, "where there is a will, there is a way."

go to the genetics forum and do a search for the answer to crossing white to another colour.

Silkies have a medium pitch and medium volume crow.

I personally lke the analogy of mixing random cans and jars of food from the pantry/fridge. Spaghetti-o's with orange marmalade, green beans and peaches. Oh Yum
