hi I am thinking about getting silkies 20 and want a chicken tractor I can use for winter in Minnesota if u have any cheap ones that would work plz tell me. I also am wonerding how docile they are I have little nephews who have been hurt by my rir are these ones friendlier I probably will be getting straight run. I also was wondering if they will big eggs. Thx I have dealt with oegb and buff Orpington and many others just never something like silkies thx so much.

Silkies are only available as straight run as chicks. They lay small eggs, since they are considered bantams. They are pretty calm but some that I’ve had are a bit wild.

I was also wondering how hard is it to keep their feet clean.

mine clean their feet themselves ,just keep their coop clean and the two I have are lap babies and do not care about a pecking order.and there are bantam silkies if I am right

Do they lose feet feathers easily

not usually unless they are molting or you have a rooster at least thats the case for mine because she is single hen.and they do need baths occasionly in muddy weather
