Hi I just got chickens this summer and I'm not sure if the silkie I got is a rooster or a hen... I'm leaning towards rooster... let me know what you think! THANKS

He does appear to be a rooster to me. How old is he?

I believe that you're correct. He is a rooster.

Silkies are tricky to sex but if Drumstick diva says it's probably a rooster, she's most likely right.

    Thanks for joining us!

Thank you for your help. It's about 4 months old and you have confirmed what I suspected and this morning it crowed for the first time!

Sorry, I am not very good at sexing silkies. But I did want to say welcome to the BYC flock! We are glad you joined us!
