My broody hatched some eggs that I got from a breeder. This little chick hatched with all white skin (and had a hard time hatching!). He/she developed some dark patches over the next few days and her feet got a little darker, but never fluffed up quite as much as the other chicks. She’s 3 weeks old now and she’s still mostly white-skinned. You can see the skin on her shoulders easily. And she has gold irises and a white beak. Is she a mix?

I don’t care a bit if she’s not pure-bred as she’s the sweetest little cutie ever! Just wondering if I should be concerned about her sparse feathering and kind of curious. TYIA!

Looks like she is pure silkie. She looks like a paint, I see a few black flex in her feathering. Dominant white is used to create them, giving them lighter skin. Often times the skin will darken as they get older. She is a cutie! Please update as she feathers in, she may develop more black flex with time.😊

Thank you! I hope her golden eyes don’t change. It gives her such a serious expression for such a cute and fluffy little thing! 😆

I would say pure silkie, she looks just like my Fluffy McNugget did at that age. Love that she/he has alot of feathering on the legs!
