Here's my overly broody silkie hen Cloud with the banty cochin chicks she hatched.
The solid black one in the center is one I saved. She pushed the egg out of the nest and it had gotton stone cold. The chick had pipped the egg and I open a nickel sized hole in it to see what had happen. I was ready to toss the egg when the chick moved. I warmed it up under a light and the next day had to remove the rest of the shell from around it. As you can see it is doing fine along with the rest of the gang.
