what is the correct length for a silkie neck. many I see look like giraffes. others seem very short. Is there a correct porportion. is the standard for these posted online some where? I am hoping to get the standard of perfection for christmas [IMG]

The American Standard of Perfection calls for the silkies neck to be:
Short, gracefully arched, with very full hackle flowing well over shoulders.

You can find a copy of the standard here
The only thing I didn't see on there is a list of the recognized colors..
white, black, partridge, buff and gray (as of 2001 in the ASOP)

Splash, also--it is listed somewhere in the back as the variety was formally recognised after most of that edition was already press-ready.

All seven recognised varieties are recognised for both bearded and non-bearded.
