Silkie Poll!

I have been bitten by the Silkie bug...

So this Spring and Summer, I will be considering getting a one or more!

Let me know, if you own Silkies, what you think of them and your experiences with them. Are they hard to keep clean? They must be a little harder to care for than hard-feather breeds because of all that fluffiness, especially the white ones, but giving one a bath looks pretty fun!

Are they good broodies/mothers? Do they often go broody? Are they good egg layers? Etc.....
Feel free to post pictures, too!


So, would you recommend getting Silkies or not? What do you have to say about them?

I have one - white girl named Swiffer. She walks bowl legged and is the funniest thing out there!!! So sweet too!

It's just my belief that once you own 1 Silkie, you SIMPLY MUST own 1 of every single color.

That's just the right thing to do.

Along with polish and cochins, I have two BBS silkie eggs to go in the bator as soon as this hatch is done.
