I have a silkie pullet (about 5 months) who has always pulled her foot feathers out right as they are growing in. She just seems to do it while grooming. She has been raised indoors (gets outdoor play time though, and has run of the house) and she is never alone but I have considered it could be stress because of her habitat (she will be in coop next month), though she has done the feather picking since hatching.

She has never had very good foot feather growth and I can't tell if it is just because it is the pulling or just natural for her. The feathers just seem to slip out (no bleeding) & I am wondering if anyone has encountered this before?

I am mainly curious because I see pics of silkies her age with huge fluffy feet and I just want her to be healthy.
