I have a white Silkie rooster in with my mixed flock of hens. Many of the girls have bald backs so I decided to put some eggs in the incubator. 2 hatched today!! The have black skin, beak and eyes with feathered legs and their feathers are mostly black with some white mixed in. SO ADORABLE!!!!! [IMG]

If the mommas were barred rocks, your babies are sex-linked. A white spot on the head means boy, and the bird will be barred like momma. Solid colored head means pullet.

Okay, typing and thinking about this, I'm not sure how it works with silkies, if they're dominant white. That may mask some of the sex-linkage? Anyway, congrats on the hatch!
