i got silkies as an afterthought because the woman who ordered the chicks for me had them and they were so cute. well, now, both have turned out to be roos, and we already had one roo from our not-sexed blue laced red wyandottes. 3 roos, 7 hens. not good, I know, but I don't know of anyone around here looking for a rooster. but this week one of the silkie roos has started "challenging" my children. he does what he does with the other silkie roo -- flaps his wings and beats them with his chest, jumping up. this is obviously unacceptable, but as vegetarians, the stew pot is not a solution for us. what do I do? this is the last thing I expected -- I heard these guys were so nurturing they'll hatch eggs. I get the sense from past reading on this board that there's no way to change this behavior, so how do I find a new home for him? who wants an aggressive roo, silkie or not? any advice for me?
