I have a friend who is in the process of cutting down her numbers of her silkie flocks. I was in need of a rooster so I bought 2 from her. One is about a year old and the other is about 6 months.
The younger one doesn’t have me convinced he is in fact a he.
It hasn’t crowed, it hasn’t laid an egg , and I have had them since 2/22. (5days)
The other roo keeps doing the “Rooster Dance” for him/her.

Can anyone help me confirm the gender?
Thanks!

The comb isn't that big, but it looks like a cockerel to me. That coloring is very hard to read. Maybe @LadiesAndJane can help.
This one is indeed, tricky. What an unusual color too. Looks like a washed out buff. I’m actually leaning pullet on this one. At six months of age I would expect to see more male characteristics in a young cockerel. Silkies can be very late layers, mine often do not start laying until eight months of age. You’re just going to have to wait a bit longer for this one, I think.😊
Please keep us posted!
