We had a pair of silkies(bantam) that we bought together and I don't know if they have ever been apart. A hawk came and killed silkie hen in in front of "Larry Bird", and he is acting really depressed. He won't crow or eat and keeps trying to brood the eggs that she laid in the nest. He really acts sad when he sees the mottled cochins together. Luckily cochin hen is laying and should go broody soon so she can hatch our late silkie's eggs. If anyone in NE GA has a silkie hen that they want to part with please contact me. BTW Larry Bird is a white Roo.

Sorry for your loss. Sounds like you had a bonded pair. Best of luck finding a new mate for him.
