Silkie roo with single comb? *Pics*

    I have a silkie roo with a single comb. I dunno why he has it. How often does this happen? I will post a pic soon.

    Im not sure if he is pure i think he is tho i got him and his friends off craigslist.

    It happens very often with production silkies. It rarely happens in exhibition lines, but mutants do pop up.

    Single comb definitely happens in silkies. Happens in both "hatchery stock" AND "show stock" too. I got a bunch of silkies from a Big Name show breeder.. more than one had single comb. Excellent type otherwise..

    Not a mutant, it floats around hidden in the genepool and can float for several generations unnoticed.

    It's just an elephant in the room- something that happens but nobody likes to talk about.
