I have always seen pictures of some peoples silkie that are so typey that their heads and tails nearly touch. Some of the males have chests that are so puffed out it's crazy! Is that desirable? It seems a little extreme.
yes, if you are looking to have show quality silkies, its what the breed standard calls for. - they are supposed to have a heart shape body type when posing. the rooster have a more upright carriage than the hens do. Also the larger and poofier the crest and fluffy the tail - the better.
