Ok so I recently got 3 chicks because Puff Daddy, my silkie roo, has been really lonely due to the fact that Abe, his crippled polish mate, is well... cripple. ANYWAYS from what i've read in the past, introducing new chicks to a rooster can be dangerous if not fatal but not even 5 mins after i put the chicks down, Puff-daddy was playing with and feeding them! Sometimes, he even sits on them to keep them warm and is very protective towards them. Is this normal? Has this happened to anyone? I find it adorable!

I love silkies. My roo actually helped hatch a clutch that a hen left, my husband couldn't believe it when I showed him. I've actually never had problems introducing birds to my silkies.
