Silkie Cockerels don't start getting streamers in until at least 5 months of age.

They look a bit young, might want to try again in another 2-4 weeks. At this age behavior is the best giveaway. Sort of contradicting MysteryChicken, I think streamers can come in as early as there months but I'm average will start at four months. By five months the streamers should be pretty obvious to a practiced eye.

Six weeks isn't always too early for sexing. It depends on the bird, & the quality of the bird. The better the quality of the bird, the harder to sex it, the lower quality of the bird, the easier it is to sex it.
This pet quality Partridge silkie cockerel is a good example of this.
