I have 2 Silkie pullets. Approximately 5 and 4 months? Anyway, the older one has what feels to be a normal crop but the younger one has a crop that is so small, sometimes I'm not even sure I can find it. She feels a little bonier in the breast than the older one. Is this normal? She seems to be flourishing in spite of the "missing" crop. And adding hard-boiled egg yolk as a supplement to her Manna Pro Chick Feed seems to have added a little weight. They also get Bragg's Raw Vinegar every couple of days to their water. Both have lots of new silk coming in on their beards and poofs.

    Where's Phoebe's crop?

I have a similar thing going on, one of my RIRs has a well pronounced crop most of the time while the other chickens have a normal sized or no crop at all. All the chickens live together, eat the same food, and are all healthy. I guess each chickens crop size varies and changes in it's own way, that's about all I know.
