I was wondering if anybody has mixed a silkie with a turken. I just got two turken hens for my silkie roo and was wondering if anybody has mixed these two and if anybody has pictures. This is my first time having a silkie and turkens. Thanks

What would I need to do to get the silkie feathering.
Breeding the offspring back to each other or the females back to the Silkie sire will give you a percentage of Silkie feathered offspring in the following generation, I believe.

In my experience many of the first generation will also be bearded (unsure about NN gene effecting this) in addition to the description given by Brahma. :pop

Your hens only carry one gene for NN so about half the offspring will be NN.
Breed those back to silkie and about half will be NN and about half will be silkied. No odds on how many get both.
Breed the first cross NN offspring together and you'll get about a quarter silkied. A quarter double gene NN and another half single gene naked neck.

Wow this is going to be a cool project. Thank you for all the information.
