2 week old silkie had a small abscess on its vent causing the poop to stay on it. I made sure to clean by dabbing with a q-tip and warm water each time its vent was gross and drying... It stated upon arrival from hatchery. The chick is now 2 weeks old and the abscess appears to be gone and the vent stays clear now most of the time but something else is still going on? Could it be a belly button infection? Does it just look bad because there is no fluff back there and skin is exposed... Why is the skin exposed? Any advice or experience? Chick is eating and drinking and has tons of energy. Is always curious as to what I am doing.. I would not think anything was wrong if I couldn't see its backside...
