Silkie with too much poo on her vent

We noticed yesterday that our black silkie pullet had poo hanging off of her butt. I thought it would come off by itself. WRONG. Her butt looks like a mangled mess similar to a dog.
I cut out what I could and soaked her in warm water and picked as much off as I could.
Anything else to do?
Her vent is not totally uncovered, but the part I did uncover start looking a little raw so I was afraid to do too much.

dont worry about it, it happens from time to time, especially if the hen has been broody recently
