Their has been eggs so one has to be female or both . About 10 months old
Very large combs but for 10 mos. old I would think cockerels. I would definitely have expected them crow by now or lay eggs. In any case I would want to breed hopefully to reduce the size of comb somewhat and maintain the walnut rather than "whatever," type of comb - .
The Buff Silkie is a pullet. The other one appears to be a cockerel.
The buff one is probably a pullet, and the other one is a roo probably. They’re beautiful birds, and silkies can be really hard to sex. Just wait and we’ll see!
Man, I wish mine was so easy to sex!
I just have a giant ball of fluff for a silkie!
So what do you think? Both female ?
I think the buff is the female (you said one is laying, right?) and the other, I think is a cockerel.
That’s funny , most are saying the white one is a cockerel but the previous owner thinks that’s the one laying !
I think the buff is a female, but the other looks very much like a male. I think I saw streamers on the light one, a picture of the back of the crest could identify if they are streamers.
